It's especially bad and obvious in Stellaris only because there is zero originality in the planet types and it's just 10 flavors of Earth. They're slightly better about ringworlds; they'll never build one of their own, but they will restore any ruined ones they come across (they have no idea how to develop them, though) 2.Beyond that, we have 4-5 Origins related to special "planet classes." Life-Seeded is the most obvious one: you start on a max size (25) gaia world, which usually has a pretty balanced district setup if memory serves. The blockers you do want to remove, they're blocking the unique features. The debate is if you want to transform them back into ecumenopoli or not, as that removes the unique features.
